Summer 2022 is here!! So as the warmer days. But in these hot-scorching summer make yourself cool and refreshing with some summer chilled & icy-cold drinks. Home-made summer drinks are easy to make. So, let’s welcome this summer with this thirsty-quenching drinks. Here are 8 homemade refreshing summer drinks in 2022

1. Aam Panna

Cool yourself with this Aam Panna drink

Yum!! After listening the name of raw mango (kaccha Aam), your mouth automatically become watery. Apart from flavorful and delicious Aam panna has its own benefits. Aam panna mainly consumed in summer especially in Maharashtra. Main benefit is this it is work as heat-resistance property (to avoid “garam loo”). Besides this Aam Panna keeps you your body hydrated and energizes you throughout the day.

Recipe:

  • Take 500gms of raw mango (kaccha Aam)
  • Boil it in water till it get soft and change the color of skin.
  • Cool it down for few minutes. Peel the skin of the mango, separate the seed from the pulp and mesh it with the help of blender or with the clean hands.
  • Add 2 cups of water (as required). Add sugar or jaggery powder, salt (as required), roasted jeera powder.
  • Add ice cubes and serve it.

2. Bel Patra Sharbat

Bael Patra is one of the most beneficial fruits, it is mostly used in northern-east part of India. Bael Patra can be intake by diabetic patients as it controls the sugar-level. It is good for memory, digestion, reduce cholesterol level, good for skin and many more. One should include Bael Patra sharbat in his daily routine in this hot summer days

Recipe:

  • Take 2-3 bael fruit. Hit it with help of hammer or some hard thing, when it cracks open take out all the pulp with the help of spoon.
  • Mash it with the help of hands and soften all the pulp by mixing very small amount of water in it.
  • Separate seeds from it and strain it from tea strainer (big one).
  • Add 1 1/2-2 cups of cold water (as required how thick you like) in the strained pulp
  • Add jaggery powder 11-12 tbsp, black rock salt and mix it well.
  • Add ice cubes or refrigerate it few minutes and serve it.

3. Shikanji

Who does not like Shikanji, right? This is my one of the favorite drinks because it’s refreshing, delicious and so much easy to make. Everybody knows the benefits of lemon. In fact it is used from the ancient time for treatment for various things. Lemon is a natural coolant, good source of vitamin-c. It is antioxidant and help in weight loss.

Recipe:

  • Whole lemon, cut it into half and squeeze all of its juice.
  • Take 1 glass of water & jaggery powder or honey or sugar (I prefer jaggery powder or honey because it is healthy). Add 2 tbsp. sugar. Mix it well till all the granules dissolved (always remember do not try to dissolve sugar in cold water, it will take more time as compared to normal water).
  • Add 2 tbsp. of squeezed lemon juice in the sugar water. Stir it well
  • Add ice cubes and enjoy sweet n sour appetizing Shikanji.

4. Sattu drink

Sattu drink is one of the most heathy drink .In village area mostly people prefer Sattu drink over any other packaging drink. Sattu powder is prepared from the roasted black Channa. It has many nutrients that helps to maintain weight as it contains abundant amount of protein. It keeps stomach happy, regulated blood sugar and gives cooling effects to body.

Recipe:

  • Take 1 glass of water. Add 1 tbsp. Sattu powder (readymade) or powdered roasted Kaala Channa.
  • Take onion and green chilies. Chop it into very finely.
  • Add small amount of finely chopped onion and chilies, finely chopped mint(optional),2-3 pinch of black pepper powder, black salt (as required), roasted jeera powder. Mix it well
  • Add ice cube and enjoy this healthy drink

5. Watermelon Punch

Watermelon is my most favorite fruit to eat in summers. It contains very less calories, so we can binge on it while maintaining our weight in check. It is high in water content and perfect to stay hydrated in summer season. It is filled with antioxidants and nutrients and provide glow to our skin.

Recipe:

  • Cut the watermelon into small pieces, remove the seeds and put it in the grinder.
  • Add 1 tbsp. lemon juice, 3-4 mint (pudina) leaves, black salt and sugar/honey (as per taste). Grind well.
  • In a glass, add 2-3 ice cubes and add the juice. Garnish with mint leaves and Enjoy…!!!

6. Lassi

Lassi always reminds me of my childhood times. Every time I think of it, I become nostalgic. I still remember when I came back from school in hot summer my mum always makes my mood light with lassi. Lassi is something that you cannot replace it with anything. Lassi gives cooling effect to the body and is filled with vitamins and minerals which boost immunity. It helps in digestion and maintains healthy gut. Lassi is a great source of probiotics and also improves bone health.

Recipe:

  • In a bowl, take 2 cup of curd and whisk it well.
  • Then, add 2-3 teaspoon of sugar and half cup of chilled water in it. Mix well until the sugar is dissolved.
  • Add half a teaspoon of cardamom powder and chopped dry fruits, serve chilled.

7. Tadka Chaach

Chaach is a great drink to have anytime of the day. You can have it with a meals or even as a refreshment. It hydrates and gives cooling effect to the body. It aids in digestion and helps in detoxification of body. When simple chaach have slightly burned jeera tadka in it and it’s taste like yum.

Recipe:
1. In a bowl add 1 cup yogurt and 2 cup water, whisk it well. You can even use plain chaach available in market.

  • Put a pan on heat, put 1 tbsp oil. When the oil is hot, add 1 teaspoon mustard seeds and let them splutter.
  • Then, add 7-8 curry leaves and 1 pinch of asafetida. Take it off heat and stir into chaach.
  • Add black pepper powder and black salt (as per taste). Serve chill

8. Iced tea

Tea is one of the most popular drink in India, so much that around 90% of Indian household consume tea on daily basis. Tea is full of antioxidants, strengthen the immune system and reduces stress. I am myself a teaholic and in summer i prefer iced tea over hot tea while reaping all the benefits of tea. Making iced tea at home is easier than the premade iced tea powder which is filled with sugar.

Recipe:

  • Take 1 L of water in a pan and bring it to boil.
  • Put 1 teaspoon tea leaves in it and close the flame. Let it brew for 5 minutes.
  • Strain it and then let it cool.
  • Add 2 tbsp. lemon juice, ice cubes and sugar/honey (as per taste) in it. Mix well.
  • Transfer it in a glass, add 1-2 lemon slices and few mint leaves. Serve chilled.
